“The master-economist must possess a rare combination of gifts. […] He must be mathematician, historian, statesman, philosopher—in some degree.”

John Maynard Keynes (1924)

Markus’ Academy is a platform to exchange ideas and knowledge on the global economy, global politics, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on how societies build resilience and adapt to new shocks.

Created by Markus Brunnermeier, a Professor of Economics at Princeton University, the goal is to bridge the gap between policy and academia: to see what policymakers think, and to bring academic ideas to light.

On Substack we share summaries of each episode, each with a different guest. Our episode format is more rigorous than a typical podcast, but more policy-facing and open-ended than a standard academic seminar.

“Thanks for these webcasts, I have listened to a number of them and I found them very interesting and thought-provoking. I will be very honored to join your wall of guests” — Jerome Powell, Chair of the Federal Reserve.

“Amazing content on this channel. Super niche, super important.” — Youtube Subscriber.
